About Eileen Blum Nardin, LCSW, ACSW

Eileen Blum Nardin Eileen Blum Nardin (Izy) has offered counseling and therapy services to adults, couples, families and children for over 20 years. She is trained and skilled in a range of treatment strategies and offers an eclectic blend of traditional insight-oriented and progressive treatment approaches. She works with diverse populations, presenting with mild or more severe difficulties.

Ms. Nardin is a licensed Social Worker in the state of North Carolina (LCSW), and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW), a distinguished branch of advanced clinicians of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She is also a Certified Consultant for Critical Incidents, helping groups, businesses and families with the psychological trauma of natural disasters, acts of violence and sudden deaths.

A graduate of the Masters program at Adelphi University School of Social Work, Ms. Nardin also has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from SUNY Binghamton. She has had ongoing training throughout her career in a broad range of treatment techniques including analytical psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, play therapy, and solution focused models.

In her years of experience, Ms. Nardin has developed expertise in a number of clinical areas, including the treatment of mood disorders (anxiety and depression), eating disorders, developmental issues, grief and loss, and helping those who have survived trauma and abuse. She also has extensive training and practice working with couples.

Along with her therapy background, Ms. Nardin worked as Clinical Director of a mental health clinic, where she supervised other professionals, developed specialized programs for mental health disorders, and managed 24 hour crisis services for psychiatric emergencies. She has offered a great deal of community education and professional consultation. She also has devoted a number of years to training UNC-CH School of Social Work interns in the art and skills of psychotherapy.
